Description of the Position
The Production Assembler is responsible for performing operations in the final meter assembly work cells. This includes assembling, testing, and boxing various products while following work instructions. New Hires will undergo training followed by certification while learning Lean Manufacturing concepts.
ShiftOvernight shift: 10:00 PM-6:00 AM.
Responsibilities- Prepare, process, clean, install, assemble, verify, test, or inspect electrical and mechanical components, hardware, sub‑assemblies, and assemblies on single or multiple product lines.
- Operate shop equipment and tools where applicable.
- Adhere to environmental and safety procedures associated with production processes and procedures.
- Use work instructions, drawings, methods, diagrams, workmanship standards or other specifications in accordance with established assembly procedures.
- Monitor and record related documentation to meet quality requirements.
- Follow production build rates, schedules and meet time standards.
- Refill production requests for parts and materials, following material handling guidelines and all safety procedures.
- Deliver materials from the warehouse to the production lines, following a daily schedule to ensure smooth production.
- Verify and ensure the maintenance of inventory accuracy, including accurate part identification labels and part quantities.
- Maintain accurate stock levels, inventories, and locations using the provided tools.
- A high school diploma.
- Good written, verbal, reading and math skills.
- Strong manual dexterity and hand/eye coordination.
- Basic computer skills.
- Ability to use manual tools and light power tools.
- Ability to work and contribute to a team environment.
- Familiarity with 5S and Lean Manufacturing concepts.
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
- Flexibility to perform other duties based upon business needs.
- Previous manufacturing or electronics knowledge is an asset.
The compensation range for this full‑time position, which includes base pay, is CAD $26.47 for candidates who are B.C. residents. The salary range is determined by roles of similar responsibility and level. Within the range, individual pay is determined by performance, knowledge, job‑related skills, experience and relevant education or training.
