Tata Steel Minerals Canada Limited (TSMC) with its headquarters in Montreal, operates iron ore mines in the provinces of Newfoundland and Labrador and Quebec. TSMC is a joint venture between Tata Steel Limited and the Government of Quebec. TSMC is currently seeking a Plant Helper to work on a Fly-in/Fly-out basis of 2 weeks On/Off rotation to and from the Menihek region in Labrador, near the town of Schefferville, QC.

Operations at our mine site are running 24/7 all year long. Standard work schedules are 12 hours per day
.

Flights to our site from a pick‑up point airport, and accommodations and meals while at site are all company‑provided. The main pick‑up points are St. John’s, Gander, Deer Lake in NL, Halifax, NS, Moncton, NB, Sept‑iles, Quebec city and Montreal in QC.

The Plant Helper supports daily plant operations at site by performing routine labor, equipment cleaning, material handling, and basic maintenance tasks. This role is essential for keeping production running smoothly and safely. The helper works closely with plant operators, mechanics, and supervisors to maintain a clean, efficient and hazard‑free work environment.

• Assist plant operators with daily production activities, including monitoring material flow and clearing blockages.
• Perform general housekeeping duties such as shoveling, hosing down equipment, and removing debris.
• Load, unload, and move materials using hand tools or basic equipment as directed.
• Support maintenance teams by providing tools, preparing work areas, and helping with minor repairs.
• Inspect work areas for hazards and report unsafe conditions immediately.
• Clean screens, conveyors, crushers, and other plant components as required.
• Follow all site safety procedures, including PPE requirements, lockout/tagout assistance, and hazard reporting.
• Assist with stockpile management and material sampling when needed.
• Operate basic equipment (e.g., water hoses, compactors, small loaders) if trained and authorized.
• Participate in safety meetings, toolbox talks, and required training.

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous experience in mining, construction, or industrial environments is an advantage but not required.
• Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting up to 50 lbs, climbing, standing for long periods, and working in outdoor conditions.
• Basic understanding of hand tools and mechanical concepts.
• Willingness to learn and follow strict safety protocols.
