Assistant Plant Operator

Assist with wastewater operations as an Assistant Plant Operator with the City of Saskatoon. Work under the Operations Manager and engage in various tasks in wastewater treatment.

This role involves supporting the Plant Operator and executing critical duties related to the operation of the Wastewater Treatment Plant. You will monitor systems, operate equipment, and perform maintenance tasks as required. Additionally, you will ensure compliance with safety regulations and participate in training sessions to enhance your skills.

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor alarm systems and plant operations

• Operate pumps and powered equipment responsibly

• Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs

• Collect wastewater samples for testing

• Report any operating deficiencies to the Plant Operator

Requirements:

• Class 3 Wastewater Treatment Operator Certification

• Four years’ related experience, two as Assistant Plant Operator

• Valid Saskatchewan Class 5 Driver’s Licence

• First aid certification required

• Fireman’s Certificate is necessary
