Procurement and Production planner

The Procurement and Production planner balances demand, production capacity and inventory levels. Based on changes in the demand forecast, they propose the production schedule and manage the procurement of raw materials, components and services required for production, tracking these activities in SAP S/4

HANA Cloud. Working proactively with suppliers and internal teams, they anticipate risks, ensure strict adherence to procedures and provide clear, accurate reporting to support decision-making.

Tasks and Responsibilities
  • Propose and update the production schedule based on changes in the demand forecast, production capacity and material availability, and submit it for approval.
  • Create production orders in SAP and monitor them through to closure.
  • Establish and balance production and procurement priorities based on customer deadlines, capacity constraints and inventory levels.
  • Anticipate discrepancies between forecasted and actual demand, challenge forecasting assumptions and recommend necessary adjustments to the production schedule.
  • Collaborate with production, sales, quality, engineering, logistics and finance teams to anticipate needs and resolve capacity and supply constraints.
Procurement and Purchasing
  • Develop and update procurement schedules in line with the production schedule.
  • Create and process purchase requisitions, issue purchase orders in SAP and follow up through to receipt.
  • Maintain proactive communication and follow-up with suppliers.
  • Resolve discrepancies related to orders and receipts, including quantity differences, non-conformities and invoicing issues.
  • Monitor supplier performance in terms of delivery timelines, quality and reliability, flag recurring issues and recommend improvements.
Inventory Management, Procedures and Reporting
  • Plan, coordinate and conduct cycle counts, and participate in the annual physical inventory count.
  • Maintain accurate procurement, planning and inventory data in SAP.
  • Analyze inventory discrepancies, identify their causes and recommend corrective actions.
Education and Experience
  • Diploma or degree in operations management, logistics, business administration or a related field.
  • Three to five years of experience in procurement or production planning in a manufacturing environment.
Technical Skills
  • Advanced Excel skills are required.
  • Familiarity with SAP S/4

    HANA Cloud is a strong asset.
  • Solid understanding of production planning, material requirements planning (MRP), inventory management, purchasing processes and logistics flows.
  • Ability to produce clear and accurate reports.
