We are seeking a results-oriented, relationship-driven marketing leader. In this role, you’ll lead strategic marketing campaigns that come to life in gas bars, food stores, pharmacies, and liquor stores across Western Canada. You’ll see the direct results of your work on shelves, signs, and screens across the Co‑op Retailing System. This position is a hybrid opportunity, with members of the marketing leadership team coming into the office approximately twice a week. The successful candidate will be based in commuting distance of Saskatoon, SK.
What you’ll do
Drive Co-op’s consumer marketing strategy; powering growth for our brand, products and services through increased reach, customer traffic, and retail sales.
Collaborate with marketing peers and commodity teams to align on strategic marketing plans, leveraging insights to challenge the status quo and uncover untapped opportunities.
Act as a trusted strategic partner to commodity leaders and stakeholders. Champion a unified voice across all consumer touchpoints (e.g., Food, Home and Building, Pharmacy, Gas Bar, Liquor), leading cross‑functional efforts to deliver consistent, customer‑centric messaging.
Manage marketing budgets, ensuring alignment with organizational KPIs and long‑term business growth.
Lead, coach, and develop a high‑performing team of marketing professionals, building capability, driving accountability, and fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
Who you’ll work with
You will report to the Director, Commodity Marketing and lead a team of Senior Marketing Specialists and Coordinators to deliver marketing initiatives for local Co‑ops and FCL. Importantly, this role also works hand‑in‑hand with commodity and business leaders to deliver a customer‑centric approach to marketing programs and campaigns designed to propel sales strategies. Who you are
You are looking for a career in marketing leadership and:
Have 8+ years of relevant progressively responsible experience in marketing with an emphasis on consumer and retail marketing.
Have experience leading a team of direct reports.
Have a bachelor’s degree in business administration, communications, or journalism (a combination of relevant education and experience may be considered).
Have affiliation with marketing and communications professional bodies (considered an asset).
Have an interest in marketing technology trends and knowledge of project management principles.
