This role based in Saskatoon with the Saskatchewan Medical Association is a full-time opportunity for a skilled Communications Specialist. The ideal candidate will possess three years of experience in media relations or journalism, fostering clear communication and advocacy. You'll be expected to support spokespersons effectively and navigate emerging issues with expertise.
Key Responsibilities:
• Create engaging media communications and key messages
• Support spokespersons in public interactions
• Respond to media inquiries and emerging health issues
• Develop strategies for effective public understanding
• Engage in outreach efforts to strengthen media relationships
Requirements:
• Degree in communications, journalism, or related field
• At least 3 years of experience in public relations
• Excellent writing and editing proficiency
• Insight into healthcare or public affairs is advantageous
• Experience in a newsroom or media-setting preferred
