Become a vital part of Medavie Health Services West as an Emergency Communications Nurse, providing essential triage and care via telephone. This casual position ensures timely medical support for non-life-threatening situations.

As a member of a collaborative team, you'll report to the Senior Operations Manager and perform telephone-based assessments for lower acuity 911 calls. Your clinical judgment and decision-making skills will guide patients toward appropriate care pathways using evidence-based resources. Key responsibilities include patient assessment, referrals, and effective communication to support healthcare access.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide clinical advice and care pathways via phone

• Assess patient needs using nursing skills and clinical judgement

• Document calls and relevant notes promptly

• Collaborate with external departments for patient care

• Participate in quality assurance and protocol development

Requirements:

• Registered nurse with a Baccalaureate degree

• Minimum two years of acute care experience

• Current Basic Cardiac Life Support certification

• Experience in triage or emergency nursing preferred

• Strong communication and assessment skills
