Livestock Labourer

Job Description

Full‑time, permanent position at Oxford Elginstead Farms Inc. located at 344281 Ebenezer Road, Mt. Elgin, ON.

• Bottle feeding calves
• Scraping manure mats
• Bedding cattle
• Assuring cattle are fed
• Pushing up feed
• Assisting with sorting, tagging cattle
• Cleaning, pressure washing calf pens
• Handling animals
• Monitoring animal health
• Monitoring the calving process
• Performing general farm duties

• Education not required
• Minimum 7 months of experience in a dairy or livestock setting
• Driver’s license is an asset
• Basic English required
• Flexibility, efficient interpersonal skills, organized, team player

• Physically demanding tasks including bending, crouching, kneeling, repetitive motions
• Combination of standing and walking, standing for extended periods
• Hand‑eye coordination needed
• Ability to work independently
• Attention to detail
• Work site environment includes odours, dairy, livestock, dirty surroundings

6 days per week: 6:00 am – 10:00 am and 3:00 pm – 6:00 pm. Schedule may shift earlier or later based on business needs and weather. One unpaid 30‑minute food break and one paid 15‑minute healthy break per day. Guaranteed at least 30 hours per week regardless of weather.

$17.60 hourly, 30–39 hours per week.
