Postdoctoral Fellow Position – Proteomics / Oral Microbiology

The Siqueira Research Laboratory invites applications for a Postdoctoral Fellow in proteomics and/or oral microbiology/microbiology. This position is ideal for a highly motivated researcher seeking advanced training while developing an independent research profile.

The Postdoctoral Fellow will be mentored by the supervisor while operating with a high level of scientific independence, leading projects, publishing in high-impact journals, and contributing to grant development. The goal of this position is to accelerate the fellow’s transition to an independent career in academia or industry.

This is a one-year contract; may end at six months dependent on funding.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and lead independent research projects in proteomics and/or oral microbiology
  • Apply advanced analytical, molecular, and microbiological techniques
  • Publish original research and contribute to grant applications
  • Mentor graduate and undergraduate trainees
  • Collaborate within interdisciplinary research teams
  • Qualifications

  • PhD in Proteomics, Microbiology, Oral Biology, Biochemistry, or a related field
  • Strong publication record and demonstrated research independence
  • Experience with mass spectrometry, bioinformatics, microbial models, or oral systems is an asset
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills

    The laboratory is well funded through provincial, national, and international research grants and offers a highly collaborative environment with access to state-of-the-art infrastructure. The position includes opportunities to attend national and international conferences to support networking, visibility, and professional development.
