The Barley and Oat Breeding Program at the University of Saskatchewan is seeking a motivated Research Technician. In this role, you'll engage in crucial lab work from September to May, providing timely data to support breeding objectives. Your involvement will also extend to outdoor field activities and related tasks during the growing season, ensuring an exciting blend of lab and fieldwork throughout the year.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct grain quality analysis using advanced lab equipment

• Participate in outdoor data collection for field breeding

• Assist with grain sample processing and wet chemistry

• Maintain accurate records for data management

• Perform greenhouse work including plant care and harvesting

Requirements:

• Post-secondary diploma or degree in chemistry, biology, or related fields

• Minimum 1 year of relevant lab experience

• Familiarity with analytical equipment and data handling

• Experience in field or greenhouse settings is an asset

• Valid class 5 driver’s license is a plus
