The Saskatchewan Food Industry Development Centre Inc. seeks a professional individual to lead and coordinate product development and sensory evaluation projects, working directly with clients and the Product Development team to deliver projects according to the approved scope, budget, and timelines.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Act as the primary technical contact for assigned product development and sensory projects.

Develop and improve food formulations, prototypes, ingredients, and processing methods.

Plan and coordinate benchtop, pilot-plant, sensory, shelf-life, and validation trials.

Design sensory evaluations, prepare testing protocols, analyze results, and provide recommendations.

Review analytical and sensory results and recommend formulation or process improvements.

Maintain accurate project records, including formulations, processing parameters, observations, results, and ingredient changes.

Prepare project work plans, technical reports, proposals, presentations, and client updates.

Work with clients to develop Nutrition Facts tables and review labels for regulatory compliance.

Research ingredients, packaging, technologies, regulations, and food-industry trends.

Coordinate project activities with the Ingredient Innovation, Extrusion R&D, Fermentation, Bioengineering, Quality Assurance, and Processing teams.

Provide technical guidance and task direction to Product Development Technicians and students.

Maintain equipment and ensure required ingredients and consumable supplies are available.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Diploma or bachelors degree in food science, or a related discipline.

Preferred 2-5 years of work experience
