Mohawk is looking for a Territory Manager to act as the principal selling agent within the assigned territory to achieve the short- and long-term objectives established in the company’s Business Plan through discovering new customers and existing markets.
What You’ll Do- Perform sales calls, travel to customers’ facilities to share information and support, make sales presentations, calculate and quote prices, take orders and close transactions.
- Provide customer service to resolve issues within marketing policies.
- Communicate customer requirements and request support from other departments as needed.
- Monitor territory performance against established objectives, taking strategic actions to improve performance.
- Provide product‑specific customer feedback to product line managers and other staff to assist in achieving company mission.
- Assist in establishing sales objectives for the territory with the District Manager and ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
- Provide timely field activity reporting and special reports for business and product planning.
- Assist in developing a territory coverage plan that defines support types and contact frequency to meet territory goals.
- Perform analysis of regional opportunities and develop a forecast for sales by customer and product, and provide statistical reports on a timely basis.
- High school diploma required; college degree a plus.
- 1–3 years of progressively responsible work experience related to sales or marketing, or equivalent education and training.
- Ability to learn and maintain in-depth knowledge of the company’s diverse product lines.
- Knowledge of marketing and sales practices, basic accounting, product development, manufacturing procedures, distribution, customer service, etc.
- Proficiency using a PC, e‑mail, and internal database systems.
- Presenting and communicating orally, in writing, and in interpersonal forms to interact and negotiate with customers and business contacts.
- Reducing tension or conflict while maintaining professionalism.
- Persuading, marketing, and selling new ideas.
- Gathering, assembling, correlating, and analyzing statistical and financial data to develop solutions.
- 75%–100% domestic travel by land and/or air; may require lifting up to 100 lbs without aids.
- Vision requirements comparable to those required for a valid driver’s license.
- Full body movement required: standing, reaching, climbing, use of all major limbs.
