Closing DateOrganization OverviewEmergency Medical Care Inc. (EMC), a wholly owned subsidiary of Medavie Health Services (MHS), manages ground ambulance, air medical transport and medical communications operations in Nova Scotia via a performance-based contract with the provincial government's Emergency Health Services (EHS) Operations division and the Department of Health and Wellness. EMC also operates Tele Health/811 medical communications for Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island for the Department of Health.
Natureand Scope
EMC responds to 165,000+ calls annually across Nova Scotia using more than 180 ambulances and support vehicles operating out of 60+ stations. Paramedics participate in various programs across the province, including community-based paramedic programs, collaborative emergency centres, and emergency preparedness and special operations.
Duties and ResponsibilitiesYou must be a graduate of an accredited paramedic program and be eligible for registration with the Nova Scotia Regulator of Paramedicine by the Final date to receive applications.
Requirements- Eligible for registration with the Nova Scotia Regulator of Paramedicine.
- A NS Class 4 Driver's License or equivalent that authorizes you to drive an ambulance.
- A copy of your five-year driving abstract dated within 90 days of the Final date to receive applications.
- Criminal background check and vulnerable sector search dated within 90 days of the Final date to receive applications.
- Proof of successful paramedic physical abilities testing (PC-PAT/OPPAT) completed in the last 12 months.
- CEVO 4 or 5 - online driving safety course.
- Resume, Cover Letter and 3 References.
- Panel interview.
