While security and surveillance installations are a large part of our work, this position would also take on jobs that involve much more than just alarm systems and cameras. From smart‑home technology implementations to enterprise networking, we now deliver customized home automation solutions and help our customers experience a truly connected home or business. Your cleverness with technology and an intuitive problem‑solving nature would make you a key member of our team.

• Use your excellent communication skills and dedication to building authentic customer relationships to deliver exceptional outcomes
• Install and repair complex residential/business alarm systems
• Identify, analyze and investigate customer concerns/issues
• Use your strong computer and networking skills to troubleshoot customer issues
• Take your passion for smart‑home automation and the connected user experience to educate customers on the possibilities of our technology

What you bring

• Previous experience providing exceptional customer service
• Comfortable with solution‑based selling, recommending products to customers and upselling TELUS services and products
• Bondable (security clearance and criminal record check required)
• Clean and valid Class 5 Driver’s License without GDL or restrictions, or equivalent; driver’s abstract required
• Normal colour vision required for color‑coded wiring
• Ability to handle a physically demanding workload, including heavy lifting, crawling in confined spaces, and working in all weather conditions
• Comfortable working at heights, climbing ladders, using man lifts and scissor lifts
• Flexibility to work various shifts: days, evenings, weekends, statutory holidays
• Willingness to support customers in various areas when needed
• Fluency in English; proficiency in other languages is a bonus
• Pro‑activeness, effective decision‑making, and ability to work with limited supervision
• Ability to plan, prioritize and thrive in a dynamic, rapidly changing environment; effective teamwork and collaboration with other departments
• Follow safe work practices and abide by all safety rules and regulations
• Enthusiasm for continuous learning, high performance and ability to apply learned skills to related situations
• Proven solid work ethic and high level of professional integrity

Security/alarm installation training will be provided

• Post‑secondary education in electronics, computers/IT or similar is a significant asset
• Security Systems Technician Trades Qualified (TQ) certification is a significant asset
• Electrical FSR designation is a significant asset
• Previous security/alarm installation experience is an asset

Salary Range: $50,000–$74,000

Performance Bonus or Sales Incentive Plan: 5%

Actual total compensation will be determined based on factors such as knowledge, skills, performance and experience.
