About the position

Work environment
📍 Okimaw Ohci Healing Lodge (OOHL) is a federal facility on the Nekaneet First Nation near Maple Creek, Saskatchewan. As one of CSC’s healing lodges for women offenders, OOHL supports healing and rehabilitation through Indigenous culture and traditions. Programs include one-on-one counseling with Elders and participation in ceremonies such as Sundance, Land Teachings, and Pipe Ceremonies. What makes OOHL unique is its strong connection to traditional ways.

The lodge is built on the values and culture of the Nekaneet First Nation, creating a supportive and culturally rich environment for residents. We gratefully acknowledge that the land on which we work belongs to Nekaneet First Nation. Treaty 4 Territory is the original lands of the Cree, Ojibwe, Saulteaux, Dakota, Nakota, Lakota, and on the Homeland of the Métis Nation.📍

Pê Sâkâstêw Centre is in Mâskwâcîs, Alberta, about 90 km south of Edmonton. Its name is Cree for “early morning sunshine before the sun appears.” At the Centre, staff call the men Oskâpêwis (oh-ska-bay-oos), meaning “Helper.” As one of CSC’s healing lodges for men, Pê Sâkâstêw offers spiritual and cultural programs like one-on-one counseling with Elders and cultural outings for ceremonies such as Sundance, Land Teachings, and Pipe Ceremonies.

These programs are part of the Indigenous Continuum of Care and create a traditional healing environment that helps Indigenous offenders reconnect with their culture and successfully return to their communities. We respectfully acknowledge that we are located on Treaty 6

Territory, the ancestral and traditional territory of the Cree, Dene,Blackfoot, Saulteaux, and Nakota Sioux Peoples since time immemorial, and the Homeland of the Métis People of Alberta.📍 Willow Cree Healing Lodge (WCHL) is a minimum-security facility for men, located on Beardy’s and Okemasis’ Cree Nation near Duck Lake, Saskatchewan. Built in a sacred natural area chosen by Elders, WCHL reflects the culture and traditions of surrounding Indigenous communities.

Residents, called Nîcisânak (brothers), live in small housing units and take part in cultural and spiritual programs guided by Elders. These programs foster healing and support the safe reintegration of Indigenous offenders into their communities. In the spirit of reconciliation, Willow Cree Healing Lodge expresses gratitude for the opportunity to gather on the ancestral Treaty 6land of Beardy's and Okemasis' Cree Nation.

We honour the Nêhiyawak that have been stewards over these lands and waters since time immemorial. Treaty 6 Territory is the traditional homeland to the Cree, Saulteaux, Dene, Dakota, Lakota, Nakota, and Métis Nations.
