Responsibilities
Recruit and train casual staff
Ongoing supervision & support including scheduling hours
Match workers with referrals, conduct initial assessment, and collaborate with agencies
Ensure each referral has a service plan tailored to their unique needs and maintain ongoing communication with caregivers/supports
Report program activities to the Ministry of Social Services
Keep accurate records of program statistics & activities
Develop programs that support youth in the community & maintain community partnerships
Attend relevant agency meetings, be knowledgeable about agency programs
Perform related administrative & record keeping duties, including reports, casework recording, correspondence & statistical recording as required & in accordance with agency policies & regulatory requirements
Perform work outside of regular operating hours, including evenings and/or weekends
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Degree in Social Work (BSW/BISW)
3-5 years supervisory experience
Relevant combination of education & experience may be considered
Theories/practices of human development, behavior & change, communication & conflict resolution; trauma & violence informed approaches
Awareness of and cultural sensitivity to the customs, traditions, spiritual beliefs and philosophy and perspective on family dynamics of Indigenous, immigrant, refugee, and newcomer populations
Commitment toward professional growth
Perform duties in a confidential manner and always display professional ethics
Deal with people experiencing difficult, unusual, and/or challenging situations
Work independently & lead a team of casual workers
Excellent written & verbal communication skills
Final candidates are required to provide a satisfactory criminal record check including a vulnerable sector search
Valid driver's license and access to a personal vehicle
