Counsellor, Mental Health, Social Work

You will provide clinical counselling, therapy, & related services to individuals (children, youth, adults), couples, & families seeking assistance with personal/interpersonal problems. May provide group therapy sessions, facilitate Rapid Access Clinics, & engage in community collaborations.

Provide counselling, therapy & related services.

Experience in counselling children, youth & families.

Conduct initial assessments to determine needs & goals.

Develop individualized serviced plans.

Facilitate groups & develop programs.

Attend agency meetings, knowledgeable about agency programs/community activities & community outreach.

Perform related administrative & record keeping duties.

Participate in clinical supervision.

Assist with supervision of peers, students & individual cases.

Work flexible hours - including evenings & weekends.

Other duties as assigned.

Degree in Social Work (BSW, BISW).

3-5 years of supervised clinical experience in a related/relevant counselling area.

Eligible to register with & maintain good standing in a relevant professional association.

Experience providing counselling to children under 12 years of age.

Experience with evidence-based interventions for children & youth mental health & behavioural concerns.

Experience in facilitating group work; knowledge of group dynamics.

Strong organizational, time management & caseload management skills.

Excellent written & verbal communication.

Maintain confidentiality & uphold professional ethical standards.

Respond effectively to complex & sensitive situations.

Commitment to ongoing professional development.
