Role

The School Counsellor will provide responsive counselling supports for students individually and in groups, support student well‑being through preventative and capacity‑building initiatives, assist schools in responding to behavioural, emotional, social, and mental health concerns, collaborate with school teams, families, and community agencies to support student success, participate in crisis response and critical incident support when required, and promote positive mental health, resilience, and healthy relationships.

Responsibilities
  • Provide responsive counselling supports for students individually and in groups.
  • Support student well‑being through preventative and capacity‑building initiatives.
  • Assist schools in responding to behavioural, emotional, social, and mental health concerns.
  • Collaborate with school teams, families, and community agencies to support student success.

Qualifications

Education, experience, and certification requirements are those required by the Province of Alberta for employment as a school counsellor.
