Sask Polytech – Volleyball Coach

Volleyball Coach for Sask Polytech’s Men’s and Women’s Amaruk Volleyball Teams

Positions: Volleyball Coach (1) Men’s Team Coach and (1) Women’s Team Coach

Location: Saskatchewan Polytechnic, Saskatoon Campus

Position Overview:
The Volleyball Coach will be responsible for developing and implementing training programs, leading practices, and coaching during games. The ideal candidate will foster a positive team culture, promote sportsmanship, and help student-athletes balance academic and athletic commitments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and conduct regular practices and training sessions for both the Men’s and Women’s teams.
  • Develop game strategies and coach during competitions.
  • Mentor and motivate student-athletes to achieve their full potential.
  • Collaborate with the Athletics Department to ensure compliance with institutional and league policies.
  • Organize team meetings, travel arrangements, and game schedules.
  • Promote a culture of academic excellence and personal growth among team members.
  • Attend coaching development opportunities to stay current with volleyball trends and techniques.
  • Qualifications:

  • Required: NCCP (National Coaching Certification Program) Level 1 Volleyball certification.
  • Required: Vulnerable Sector Check (must be completed prior to hiring).
  • Previous coaching experience at the post-secondary, club, or high school level.
  • Strong knowledge of volleyball rules, techniques, and strategies.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
  • Passion for student-athlete development and a commitment to fostering a positive team environment.
