Position: Class 1 P&D Light Rover-$82,410.00 Northern Saskatchewan
Job Description
  • We are looking for a Class 1 P&D Light Rover to cover various terminals in Northern Saskatchewan and throughout our network.
  • You will be responsible for performing pick-ups and deliveries in various towns as required, ensuring timely and accurate service.
  • You will use an Electronic Logging Device (ELD) to track your on-duty and drive time, maintaining compliance with hours of service regulations.
  • You will be based in Saskatoon, SK, but may be required to travel to other locations for extended periods (1-3 weeks). During these "floating" assignments, the company will cover hotel costs and travel expenses if using your personal vehicle.
  • You will be responsible for safely operating and maintaining a commercial vehicle, adhering to all traffic laws and company safety policies.
  • You will need to efficiently plan and optimize delivery routes to ensure timely arrivals and departures.
  • You will be required to load and unload freight, which may involve the use of material handling equipment such as forklifts.
  • You will be responsible for accurately completing and submitting all required paperwork, including delivery receipts, bills of lading, and incident reports.
  • You will need to maintain regular communication with dispatch and customers, providing updates on delivery status and any potential delays.
  • You will be expected to conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, reporting any mechanical issues or safety concerns promptly.
  • You will be responsible for securing and properly handling all types of cargo to prevent damage during transit.
  • You may be required to assist in training new drivers or act as a mentor for less experienced team members.
  • You will need to adapt to changing weather conditions and adjust your driving accordingly to ensure safe operations.
  • You will be expected to represent the company professionally at all times, maintaining positive relationships with customers and the public.
  • You may be required to participate in ongoing safety training and professional development programs to enhance your skills and knowledge in the transportation industry.
  • Qualifications

  • Valid Class 1 driver's License
  • 1 Year of Local Pickup & Delivery experience
  • Forklift experience is an asset
  • Criminal Record Check
  • Driver's Abstract
