Sun West School Division is seeking reliable, safety‑oriented applicants for a School Bus Driver position for Kindersley Route 04 (Coleville and area to Kindersley Schools).
This is a permanent position, starting on or before September 1, 2026. The ideal candidate is responsible, patient, and committed to maintaining a safe and respectful environment for all passengers.
Key Responsibilities
Safely operate a school bus along designated routes and schedules
Pick up and drop off students at assigned stops
Conduct pre‑ and post‑trip vehicle inspections
Ensure compliance with all traffic laws and school transportation regulations
Maintain order and discipline on the bus
Assist students with boarding and exiting when required
Report any delays, accidents, or mechanical issues promptly
Keep accurate records of routes, incidents, and inspections
Communicate professionally with students, parents, and school staff
Qualifications & Requirements
Valid driver’s license with “S” endorsement
Acceptable 10‑year driving abstract
First Aid/CPR certification or willingness to obtain one
Previous driving or school transportation experience is an asset
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions in stressful situations
Basic computer and technology skills, including proficiency with email, mobile apps, and electronic reporting or scheduling systems
Must have a satisfactory Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Check
Working Conditions
Split shifts (morning and afternoon routes)
Driving in various weather conditions
Interaction with children of diverse ages and needs
Compensation & Benefits
Salary and benefits will be in accordance with the collective agreement of CUPE Local 4802. Base Rate: $61.71.
