Rail Locomotive Operator & Switchman​/Helper; Clavet

Railserve, Canada—Position:
Rail Locomotive Operator / Switchman/Helper. The primary location is Clavet with possible assignments in Lanigan to cover vacations.

• Operate electric, diesel‑electric, or gas‑turbine‑electric locomotives.
• Pump liquid chemicals, petroleum products, and other liquids from tank cars.
• Interpret train orders, signals, and applicable rules and regulations.
• Transport freight and perform timely, accurate switching and placement of rail cars.
• Operate hand or ground throw switches, derails, gates, and related equipment.
• Control movement of equipment by radio, hand signals, and lanterns.
• Apply and release hand brakes to secure or move equipment.
• Handle air hoses, wheel chocks, and perform coupling/uncoupling of rail cars.
• Wear required personal protective equipment at all times.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Education / Experience: High school diploma (or equivalent) is preferred; military experience is a plus.
• Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Reliable, punctual, dependable; dependable transport to work. Strong verbal, non‑verbal, and written communication; active listening. Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and develop a timely plan. Team‑player in a cooperative environment; works under pressure in a quick‑paced setting.
