Giant Tiger Wholesale is hiring a Forklift Operator for its distribution centre in Johnstown, Ontario. The position requires safe operation of narrow‑aisle and high‑bay reach trucks, including reporting, stocking, and moving inventory within both conventional and Symbotic racking areas.
Responsibilities- Drive narrow aisle and high bay reach trucks through high‑traffic areas to service order pickers and VNA forklift operators
- Follow Warehouse Management System and supervisor directions to replenish and put away items
- Identify SKU numbers and quantities to accurately scan and move items between locations
- Identify and account for damages by moving damaged cases to the designated area
- Maintain a daily productivity count
- Provide assistance to other departments as directed by the supervisor
- Capacity to sit, stand, walk, climb stairs, and lift heavy objects throughout the shift
- Comfortable in a noisy, fast‑paced environment
- Punctual, self‑motivated, detail oriented, spatially aware of surroundings
- Basic math and PC skills
- Experience in a warehouse environment (preferred)
- Experience operating a forklift or similar machine (preferred)
- Experience with a Warehouse Management System (preferred)
- Positive attitude (preferred)
- Class G2 or higher driver’s license (preferred)
- Strong commitment to safety and compliance with the Ontario Safety and Health Act (OSHA) and WHMIS standards
New hires will attend three days of paid machine training and must successfully obtain in‑house certification, which is a mandatory condition of employment.
ScheduleWednesday to Saturday, 4:30p.m. – 3:00a.m. (evening shift)
Compensation- Hourly rate: $19.95
- Guaranteed hourly increases based on cumulative hours worked
- Overnight shift premium of $2.00per hour (if applicable)
- Retirement savings support: company contributes 6% of annual earnings to a Deferred Profit Sharing Plan
- Health and dental benefits (available after 3 months of full‑time work)
