Salary

$18.73 hourly. Actual salary negotiable based on experience and qualifications.

Location and Schedule

Beachside/Melbourne Beach Public Library. Part-time/up to 20 hours per week. Work schedule is variable and includes evenings and Saturdays.

Job Summary

Performs experienced paraprofessional library work providing assistance in the Youth services section of the library. Work includes assisting the public with the use of computers to conduct database and Internet searches, printers, library–related services on mobile phones and eReaders, and assisting with various library programs. May provide direction to other staff members and/or volunteers.

Requirements

Successful completion of two (2) years college coursework in any field (30 semester / 45 quarter hours) or two (2) years library or customer service experience. Additional qualifying education and/or experience may be substituted on a year‑for‑year basis.

Special Requirements

May be assigned to another library if usage statistics change. In the event of a hurricane or major storm, employee will be required to perform emergency duties as directed.
