The V2X Company is growing and looking for a Project Manager to join our Mobile Sensors program team! The V2X Mobile Sensors program performs Operations & Maintenance (O&M) and Sustainment requirements for the COBRA KING radar and communication systems onboard the USNS Howard O. Lorenzen. These systems and the program assigned employees are tasked to primarily operate in the Pacific Command's (PACOM) Area of Responsibility (AOR).

Our program ensures the COBRA KING (CK) radar and communication systems are Fully Mission Capable (FMC) 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and capable of supporting mission operations on short notice.

V2X Mobile Sensors Management Office (MSMO) is seeking a motivated individual to join our team as a Project Manager with a diverse background of capabilities to plan, coordinate, and execute work items relative to periodic maintenance availabilities as scheduled and annual shipyard requirements for the radar, communication systems, and any other company or customer spaces onboard the USNS Howard O. Lorenzen.

The candidate will work independently on projects from start to finish, while collaborating with internal and external teams. This position will be located at the program office on Patrick Space Force Base (PSFB), FL. Will be required to travel for more than 60 days to an OCONUS location in support of shipyard and maintenance availability requirements.

This position involves OCONUS travel; ~20-25%

Required Skills
  • Lead in the planning, coordination, status, and execution of all program and customer work items for our systems and spaces onboard the USNS Howard O. Lorenzen
  • Acts as the program’s representative, ensuring that all requirements are met
  • Drive and manage project requirements throughout the entire life cycle.
  • Create, maintain, and status shipyard project schedules, work hours, and budget estimates.
  • Develop and manage Transportation Alterations (TRANSALTs) requirements in support of the government and/or MSC TRANSALT process.
  • Provide detailed project status reports/briefings as required.
  • Evaluate work progress and quality of work being performed by the program and subcontractors.
  • Maintain professional relationships with all stakeholders.
  • Proactively organize and host all on-site and virtual related meetings.
  • Efficiently and accurately communicate relevant project information to the team.
  • Assist program management and the sponsor with drafts and issuance of project proposals, RFPs, and preliminary schedules.
  • Perform technical evaluations to support the subcontracts manager’s negotiation with vendors and suppliers.
  • Plan and support the procurement of material/equipment and serve as the sponsor’s representation for shipyard/maintenance availability pier‑side work periods.
  • Control all project data throughout the lifecycle of the project, specifications, TDPs, drawings, etc.
  • Prepare completion certificates and ensure all project closeout documents are obtained, filed, and, when necessary, delivered to the government.
  • Travel to project sites within the US and/or internationally as needed
  • Additional job duties as assigned.
  • Active Secret clearance.
  • Must be able to read and comprehend mechanical drawings.
  • Must be able to pass a Mariner’s Physical.
  • Must have strong written and oral communication skills
  • Experience working in a team and operational environment to manage systems
  • A working knowledge of the Microsoft Office tools such as Word, Excel, Power Point, and organizational documentation file management systems
  • Must thrive in a fast‑paced environment
  • Must have a valid driver’s license
  • Must have a valid US Passport
  • Must be able to board vessels, enter confined spaces with limited visibility, and have the ability to climb up and down stairs and/or ladders of varying heights to complete inspections.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience creating schedules with project scheduling software
  • Understanding of aluminum, steel, wood, & fiberglass vessel design and construction
  • PMP certification or equivalent
  • Experience with MSC Tans Alts process
  • Familiarity with classification society rules (ABS, USCG, etc.)
