Electrical​/Low Voltage Apprentice

The Electrical/Low Voltage Apprentice must demonstrate the ability to follow directions while being highly motivated. The Electrical/Low Voltage Apprentice will require good communication skills and the ability to work well in a team setting. Candidates should keep abreast of industry trends and applicable Government regulations.

• Installing and terminating all Low Voltage cabling.
• Terminating, testing, and labeling end-user devices. Comm room build-out.
• Utilizing industry standards and company-approved installation methods and techniques.
• Ensuring all work complies with applicable AHJ codes and industry standards.
• Pulling fiber through conduit, and man/hand hole systems.
• Installing conduits in trenches, hand/utility holes, and buildings.
• Digging, trenching for cabling.
• Maintaining open communication with direct supervisor to ensure work quality, performance, and materials meet required schedules and expectations.

• Educational Requirements:
  
  High School diploma or equivalent. Formal training is preferred.
• Certification Requirements:
  Ability to obtain a Florida State JLA (Jessica Lunsford Act) Badge.
• Experience Requirements:
• Must be able to read and interpret schematics, diagrams, and blueprints.
• Ability to use basic hand tools, power tools, etc.
• Ability to read, speak and understand English.
• Knowledge of safe working practices (e.g., OSHA, Lock Out/Tag Out).
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including overtime if necessary.
• Must be able to climb ladders.
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
• Ability to help crews pull Cat 6 and Fiber Optic cabling.
• Ability to work in and around confined spaces and follow all related safety operations for assigned tasks.
• Must possess own transportation, as most locations aren’t accessible with public transportation.
