Qualifications: Master's degree in accounting science or a high degree in accounting (e.g., chartered accountant)

Experience: 10 years relevant profile, including Gulf experience

Duties and Responsibilities

Develop procedures and ensure accurate implementation of recording, classifying, and summarizing daily financial transactions.

Generate monthly financial statements (profit & loss, cash flow).

Maintain general ledger, subsidiary ledgers, and other financial records and schedules accurately.

Institute policies and procedures to protect the business against waste, fraud, and inefficiency.

Maintain tight control over cash transactions.

Ensure timely follow up of accounts receivable and payable.

Evaluate and implement internal and external audit recommendations and provide feedback to management.

Implement budget and forecast preparation schedule, collecting relevant business data and projections, and provide analysis and feedback.

Provide support, service, and advice in all finance matters to company management.

Exercise budgetary controls, accounting and physical controls, credit control, and asset management.

Maintain effective understanding of the business to contribute to key decisions with financial advice.

Ensure staff in finance and accounts department perform duties effectively and efficiently; assign duties accordingly.

Senior Accountant

Reported to senior accountant

Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in accounting; higher qualification preferred.

Experience: Minimum 5 years as senior accountant, including Gulf experience.

Duties and Responsibilities

Compile and analyze financial information to prepare entries in the book of accounts, general ledger accounts, documenting business transactions.

Handle the accounts team of head office.

Direct team to follow accounting procedures.

Analyze daily banking transactions and journal entries (reconciliation for all transactions).

Payroll and loans & advance reconciliation.

Prepare monthly sales reports in Excel for analysis.

Follow up all team members and help them perform their work.

Monitor compliance with generally accepted accounting principles and company procedures.

Provide advice and assistance, early warnings on potential issues such as cost overruns, excessive charges, and potential penalties; support month end and year end close processes.

Follow up un billed job cards, match with workshop inventory, and send daily report to sales/admin.

Prepare clearing accounts between branches and prove transactions recorded in each branch.

Follow up and review suppliers and customers accounts.

Review cash book and ensure conformity with actual balances.

Monthly prepare statement of cash flows and financial status reports, providing supervisors with historical information, fiscal projections, and required reports.

Handle fixed assets management.
