Supervisor, Manufacturing Engineering A320 Process Engineer

Airbus Americas, Inc is looking for a Supervisor, Manufacturing Engineering A320 Process Engineer to join our team based in Mobile, AL.

As part of the ME PE Leadership team, the incumbent will coordinate all activities related to ME PE team functions within their designated business area. The Supervisor will ensure ME PE topics are addressed in a timely manner to support production needs and escalation requirements, act as a leader and subject matter expert, and be responsible for the training and development of new team members.

Our Engineers at the Airbus U.S. Manufacturing facility take our aircraft from concept to customer delivery - working with production teams on every aspect of assembly from managing technical information, quality control, maintenance tasks and health & safety - along flowlines and flight lines. In the Airbus U.S. Manufacturing Facility for commercial aircraft at the Mobile Aeroplex at Brookley opened in 2015, producing A320 Family aircraft and a second product line for the A220 in 2019.

• Work in a dynamic Multi Functional Team (MFT) involving FAL ME Process Engineer, Production, Quality, Logistics, and Tech Support functions.
• Provide and ensure technical leadership within the FAL MFT and coordinate with other engineering functions.
• Liaise with European FALs to address complex problems and determine best practices for manufacturing processes.
• Lead and supervise Manufacturing Engineers, determine operational priorities, daily targets, and goals.
• Plan, organize, supervise and provide context to direct reports; review performance and give feedback.
• Subject matter expert on site for Manufacturing Engineering PE processes, provide input to lead processes between departments and external stakeholders.
• Manage and develop a high performing team, interface with internal customers to gauge satisfaction, coach, lead, and motivate the team.
• Manage attendance, performance evaluations, development plans, and training for the team.
• Provide technically accurate and clear work instructions for production and quality.
• Work as part of an integrated team to ensure visibility of critical items.
• Collaborate with HO Process Engineering to define staffing requirements, create/update Job Description s, manage hiring and onboarding.
• Develop succession planning to manage turnover while maintaining core business deliverables.
• Optimize and implement processes to improve the overall department and business.
• Master aircraft manufacturing techniques, industrial processes and associated procedures.
• Prevent and eliminate disturbances in the manufacturing process.
• Contribute to elimination/resolution of repetitive NCs within the FAL.
• Ensure fulfillment of legal and airworthiness requirements.
• Serve as point of contact and escalation for process adherence and regulatory topics.
• Act as leader in the FAL embodying Airbus core values.

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial, Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or similar, or equivalent education/experience.
• Successful in managing technical projects to ensure optimal implementation of technical solutions.
• Experience in managing and leading teams.
• High degree of flexibility and initiative.
• Proven ability to influence others and lead teams.
• Proven ability to coordinate several projects and tasks simultaneously.
• Demonstrate excellent management and leadership skills.
• Demonstrate good judgment, flexibility, results orientation, ability to work under minimum supervision and observe tight delivery deadlines.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English verbally and in writing.

• 5+ years of manufacturing engineering experience.
• Leadership and working experience within a fast paced manufacturing environment similar to Airbus Mobile Manufacturing Site.
• Ability to communicate in German, French and Spanish (desirable).
