Job Overview

Airbus Manufacturing Facility located in Mobile, AL is looking for a Flight line Avionics Technician – A320. Responsible for performing Functional Test Procedure (FTP), Pre & Post Flight inspection, and ensuring test flight readiness for built aircraft.

Responsibilities
  • Perform aircraft system Functional Test Procedure (FTP) / Pre / Post flight Daily Inspection check list.
  • Learn and execute new tasks and techniques to troubleshoot aircraft systems.
  • Follow level 1 troubleshooting procedures and document findings precisely.
  • Perform pretest, operational, and final testing of electronic systems, components or subassemblies.
  • Perform post dock maintenance daily checklist, safety and security inspections.
  • Handle day to day planned and unplanned aircraft maintenance.
  • Conduct pre-induction first‑flight configuration and incoming inspections of cabin interior, cockpit, and electronic bays.
  • Setup and operate ground support and test equipment for functional flight tests of electrical and electronic systems.
  • Test and troubleshoot instruments, components, and assemblies using circuit testers, volt meters.
  • Verify and upgrade aircraft avionic software to the latest version.
  • Collaborate with systems engineer to interpret flight test data.
  • Maintain close working relationship with assigned lead person on schedules, priorities, parts and supplies.
Qualifications
  • 3 years’ experience with Applied Science in Avionics, A&P, or FCC license.
  • Ability to obtain a Repairman Certificate.
  • Valid Driver License.
  • Willingness to work a rotational shift schedule including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Valid passport that allows unrestricted travel.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 5 years minimum aviation experience, preferably in aviation manufacturing or MRO environment.
  • Knowledge of EASA/TCCA Regulations.
  • Valid A&P or FCC license.
  • Ability to understand, remember, and apply oral and written instructions.
  • Oral and written communication skills sufficient to prepare reports.
  • Ability to read, understand, and follow manual instructions to solve complex mechanical problems.
  • Basic computer skills:
    Email, Google Workspace, data entry.
  • Travel required:

    5% domestic and international.
  • Authorized to work in the US.
Knowledge, Skills, Demonstrated Capabilities
  • Basic knowledge of electrical/Mechanical theory and aircraft unique tools such as test equipment, torque wrenches, indicators, and micrometers.
  • Experience with aircraft sealing techniques and sealant characteristics.
  • Capable of reading and interpreting approved aircraft diagrams, charts, schematics and maintenance procedures (AMM/IPC/AWD/SB).
  • Participate in process improvement, root cause analysis, 5S, and applicable tools for improving workload, quality, safety and reducing cycle time.
  • Participate in daily SQCDP projects and tool/FOD management.
  • Operate in confined space, height condition and outdoor environment.
  • Support and train other aircraft technicians.
  • Use a variety of standard and specialized hand tools, power equipment, measuring devices and test equipment, including jigs/fixtures such as crane, cherry‑picker, forklift, and loading platform.
  • Knowledge of regulations regarding confined space entry, respiratory protection and respirator use.
  • Ability to work under stressful conditions due to responsibility level.
