Location: Al Majma‘ah
About the role
We are looking for an experienced Simulator Electrical / Hardware Technician to join our team at Al Majma’ah Airbase. You will work on advanced Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) simulators as part of a team of three technicians responsible for the maintenance and repair of a fleet of three UAV simulators – two Generic Mission Training devices and one desktop system. Working hours are 07:00 to 15:00, Sunday to Thursday.
KeyTasks
- Identify, find and solve problems in complex flight simulation systems
- Check updates and bug fixes at the subsystem level with the test engineer/pilot
- Support integration of data, updates, software and hardware and exchange of various assemblies
- Calibrate instruments
- Perform functional testing of systems
- Conduct detailed fault analysis and rectify or repair defects or components
- Learn and perform preventive maintenance tasks on simulators and associated systems
- Assist in diagnosing and correcting problems on simulators and associated systems
- Use maintenance management systems to record and track maintenance activities
- Perform pre‑flight and post‑flight checks on all simulators
- Perform visual calibrations
- Run automatic Qualification Test Guide (QTG)
- Assist with refurbishment and hardware modifications
- Perform administrative tasks as required
- Perform logistics duties, including parts received, repair, and testing/validation
- Relevant technical qualifications and some work experience in electronics, avionics, or technical fields as a technician or similar
- Strong experience in electrical engineering and hardware engineering
- Experience working with software (no coding required)
- Computer literate (PC and/or computer mainframe/architecture)
- Some experience in soldering and circuit board repairs preferred
- Some knowledge of Microsoft Office tools and suite
- Practical, analytical mindset with strong troubleshooting skills
- High level of communication and teamwork skills
