Location: Al Majma‘ah
We are looking for an experienced Simulator Electrical Hardware Technician to join our team based at Al Majma ah Airbase working on advanced Unmanned Aerial Vehicle UAV simulators. In this role you will be part of a team of 3 technicians who are responsible for the maintenance and repair of the existing fleet of 3 UAV Simulators—2 Generic Mission Training devices and 1 Desktop system.
This role will be technically varied, giving you the opportunity to work on modern simulators, systems and equipment to enhance your technical knowledge. We are continually looking to foster an environment of learning, development and progression. At CAE you’ll gain exposure to a broad range of systems to help you develop your technical knowledge. Our current working hours in this role are 07:00-15:00, Sunday to Thursday.
tasks
- Identifying, finding and solving problems in complex flight simulation systems
- Checking updates and bug fixes at subsystem level with the test engineer pilot
- Supporting the integration of data, updates, software and hardware and exchange of various assemblies
- Calibration of instruments
- Functional testing of systems
- Detailed fault analysis and rectification or repair of the source of the fault components
- Learning and performing preventive maintenance tasks on the simulators and associated simulator systems
- Assisting in diagnosing and correcting problems on the simulators and associated simulator systems
- Utilizing maintenance management systems to record and track maintenance activities
- Performing pre‑flight and post‑flight checks on all simulators
- Performing visual calibrations
- Running automatic Qualification Test Guide (QTG)
- Assisting with refurbishment and hardware modifications
- Performing administrative tasks as required
- Performing logistics duties including parts received, repair and testing validation
- Ideally you will hold relevant technical qualifications and have some work experience in an electronic, avionic or technical field as a technician or similar
- Strong experience in electrical engineering and hardware engineering
- Experience of working with software (you don’t need to write code)
- Computer literate, PC and/or computer mainframe architecture
- Some experience in soldering and circuit board repairs preferred
- Some knowledge of Microsoft Office tools and suite
- Practical analytical mindset with great troubleshooting skills
- High level of communication and teamwork skills
