Overview

To support the implementation of the Archiving strategy to meet business expectations and conductsanalysis of Database table providing solutions to reduce database size while supporting Legacy system database management.

Responsibilities
  • Applies approved section policies, processes, and procedures and monitors adherence so that work is carried out in a controlled manner.
  • Applies the day-to-day operations assigned for the Technical Support Section to ensure compliance with the established standards and procedures.
  • Implements Data Archiving strategy to meet business expectations and supports activities to achieve professional archives management plans to facilitate effective record keeping, document management and retrieval for IT users across KJO.
  • Optimizes Database tables by supporting analysis, design, construction, testing & go live activities while providing solutions to reduce database size and improve efficiency.
  • Provides suggestions to archive fast growing custom tables and suggestion to consider the archiving objects, identifying the
    Business configuration sets for the Archiving objects.
  • Maintain Legacy system database and provide support as per requirements
  • Coordinates and supports activities & work of the contractors to ensure that all work agreed upon is carried out in an efficient manner which is consistent with the organisation requirements and is in line with operating procedures and policy.
  • Attends application acceptance tests of completed projects to verify that the applications work in order to make the necessary closures and recommendations to the project.
  • Identifies opportunities for improvements to processes/procedures in Data Archiving and Warehousing development & operations and make recommendations in implementing appropriate systems.
  • Trains user departmental staff in data archiving and warehousing practices so that departments can independently utilise the module’s functionality.
  • Prepares section reports in a timely and accurate manner to meet Company and section requirements, policies and standards.
  • Complies with all relevant safety, health and environmental procedures to ensure a healthy and safe work environment.
  • Performs other related duties or assignments as directed
