Position Overview

Raytheon is seeking a second shift technician to perform final assembly of energetic sections building large‑scale missiles. Applicants must be mechanically gifted, demonstrate attention to detail and safety, and provide strategic and critical products to our war fighters. The job will be performed in a state‑of‑the‑art factory for large‑scale missile production located on the Redstone Arsenal.

Responsibilities
  • Perform assembly, modification, and checkout of ordnance weapon systems.
  • Handle warheads, pyrotechnic devices, and complete ordnance weapons systems.
  • Work with computer systems and applications.
  • Perform hardware movement in factory utilizing advanced robotic automation.
  • Follow all documented processes and procedures involving assembly and ensure proper material handling.
  • Work with explosive items.
  • Operate pneumatic and manual tools.
  • Use manual torque tools with torquing values greater than 250 foot‑pounds.
  • Stand for long periods.
  • Lift and carry 28 lbs.
  • Follow detailed work instructions and processes to ensure hardware conformance.
  • Support and champion Lean Manufacturing in all processes and areas of responsibility.
  • Complete necessary training to improve skills.
  • Participate in meetings to acquire knowledge necessary to assist in continuance of production operations accurately.
  • Provide work assignments and instruction to team member operators as needed.
  • Provide directions to other team members during completion of assigned tasks.
  • Ensure that all documented processes and procedures involving assembly and a focus on proper material handling are adhered to.
Qualifications You Must Have
  • HS Diploma or AA/AS degree (or other 2‑year post‑high‑school training) with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience.
  • 4 years of experience in assembly or related field.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance prior to the start date. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Preferable Qualifications
  • Experience operating a forklift, walker stacker, pallet jack, and other equipment normally associated with loading and unloading trucks.
  • Physical warehousing and inventory control experience.
  • Active DoD Secret or higher security clearance.

Salary

The salary range for this role is $43,400 USD – $82,600 USD. The range is an estimate based on experience level. RTX considers additional factors when extending an offer.

Hired applicants may also be eligible for annual short‑term and/or long‑term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and collective‑bargaining agreement. Participation is not guaranteed.

This role is U.S. based. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits apply.
