We are looking for an experienced Hydroponic Leafy Greens Production Supervisor to oversee daily crop production in a commercial hydroponic farming operation The role will be responsible for managing the complete growing cycle of leafy greens such as lettuce arugula kale pak choi spinach and other salad crops while maintaining high standards of yield quality food safety and production efficiency
Crop ProductionSupervise daily hydroponic production activities from seeding through harvesting Monitor crop growth plant health root development and crop uniformity Manage production schedules crop cycles transplanting and harvesting Maintain optimum pH EC nutrient concentration temperature humidity and irrigation
parameters Monitor hydroponic systems including NFT DFT A-frame vertical and multi-layer systems Identify nutrient deficiencies plant stress diseases pests and other crop problems Implement corrective actions to maintain consistent crop quality and yield
Supervise farm workers and allocate daily tasks Prepare daily and weekly production plans Monitor seeding transplanting harvesting cleaning and sanitation activities Ensure production areas equipment channels trays and growing systems are properly maintained Coordinate with maintenance and technical teams to resolve equipment or irrigation problems Maintain accurate production records
Production Yield ManagementMonitor crop yield against production targets Track germination rate survival rate crop cycle harvest weight and crop losses Analyze production data and recommend improvements Reduce crop waste and improve labor water nutrient and energy efficiency Maintain continuous production according to customer and sales requirements
Quality Food SafetyEnsure harvested products meet required quality specifications Implement proper hygiene and sanitation procedures Follow farm food-safety protocols and agricultural best practices Ensure workers follow PPE hygiene and biosecurity procedures Maintain traceability records for seeds nutrients production batches and harvests
Team ManagementTrain workers in hydroponic production procedures Supervise and evaluate farm staff performance Ensure proper staffing for each production shift Enforce farm SOPs and safety procedures Report daily production performance to the Production Farm Manager
Required QualificationsDiploma or Bachelor s degree in Agriculture Horticulture Agronomy Plant Science Hydroponics or a related field 3 5 years of commercial hydroponic or greenhouse production experience preferably with leafy greens Practical experience with lettuce arugula kale pak choi spinach or similar crops Strong knowledge of hydroponic nutrient management pH and EC control Experience with automated irrigation fertigation and climate-control systems Experience supervising agricultural workers Good knowledge of crop disease and pest identification Ability to analyze production and crop-performance data Experience with:
Commercial-scale vertical farming Multi-tier/A-frame hydroponic systems NFT/DFT systems Automated fertigation Climate-controlled greenhouses LED growing systems Seedling and nursery production Environmental monitoring and control systems ERP/farm-management software HACCP, GLOBALG.A.P., or other food-safety systems
