Warehouse Engineer

Overview

Oversees the quality and performance of the warehousing contractor, including ensuring receipt, storage, retrieval and dispatch, disposal of materials; ensuring right planning of the arrangement of goods within the warehouse and organizing special requirements for certain materials such as chemicals and parts are accessible. Ensures productivity and contractual targets of the warehouse contractor are met.

• Oversees the quality and performance of the warehousing contractor, including receipt, storage, retrieval and dispatch, disposal of materials; ensures proper planning of the arrangement of goods within the warehouse and accessibility of special materials (e.g., chemicals and parts).
• Ensure productivity and contractual targets of the warehouse contractor are met and maintained in the warehouse operations.
• Control the work quality performed by the warehouse contractor; identify and document issues, develop solutions, and follow up on the execution and final implementation of solutions.
• Develop and maintain a continuous improvement process within warehousing.
• Create monthly reports on the performance of the warehouse contractor and monitor related issues and solutions.
• Ensure correct inventory status in the SAP system versus physical inventory.
• Ensure orderly warehouse operations and on-time delivery of materials to Proponent Departments by regular communication with Proponent Departments and adherence to industry standards.
• Develops and regularly updates written, formal standard operating procedures (every 6 months).
• Produce regular reports on inventory status, including obsolescence and slow/fast moving items.
• Adhere to safety, health, and environmental procedures to maintain a healthy and safe work environment.
• Perform other related duties or assignments as directed.

• Policies, Processes and Procedures:
  Applies approved section policies, processes, and procedures and monitors adherence to ensure work is carried out in a controlled manner.
• Day-to-day operations:
  Applies day-to-day operations for the assigned Section to ensure compliance with established standards and procedures; maintains productivity and contractual targets in SAP Warehouse Management and manages warehouse operations.
• Warehouse and Inventory Management:
  Creates monthly performance reports for the warehouse contractor; ensures accuracy of inventory status in SAP versus physical inventory.
• Delivery and Technical Support:
  Ensures order in the physical warehouse; communicates with Proponent Departments to resolve on-time delivery issues; follows industry standards.
• Planning and Update:
  Develops and updates SOPs regularly (every 6 months).
• Reporting:
  Creates monthly performance reports and inventory status reports (including obsolescence and movement analysis).
• Safety, Health & Environment:
  Complies with all relevant safety, health, and environmental procedures.
