SummaryThe Awake Overnight CNA 3 will provide support and assistance to individuals with developmental and psychiatric disabilities during the overnight hours as needed in Level 3 residential programs. Staff will provide support to individuals who may need daily intervention, supervision, and skills training in activities of daily living while managing within a home environment and in the community. Individuals may require moderate to considerable physical assistance or accommodations.
Staff will receive specialized training to provide enhanced supervision or interventions designed to address multiple disabilities, including behavioral support or enhanced medical care. Staff may be required to have specialized certifications such as Certified Nursing Assistant; be credentialed or trained in specialized areas such as PABC or ABA techniques; and/or have advanced training in areas such as autism, behavioral supports, and/or healthcare.
Sunday-Wednesday 11:00pm-9:00am Awake (40 hours)
Essential Duties And Responsibilities- Provide support and assist individuals with all activities of daily living during the morning routine which may include assistance with grooming, bathing, oral hygiene, feeding, incontinent care, toileting, colostomy care, prosthetic appliances, transferring, ambulation, range of motion, communicating, or other needs in keeping with the individuals' care requirements.
- Provide care during the overnight shift to individuals who may wake up or have needs requiring assistance including checking vital signs, checking their weight, applying creams/ointments, etc.
- Provide care to individuals such as maintaining the comfort, privacy, and dignity of each individual in the delivery of services to them.
- Maintain safety of all individuals while on shift including implementing emergency policies as needed.
- Provide services to individuals according to, DDS, DMH, Mass Health, HUD, DPH, CARF, and all applicable regulatory standards, and Bridgewell policies and procedures.
- Maintain daily and monthly progress notes, shift checklists, and other program documentation according to DDS, DMH, and all applicable regulatory standards.
- Administer medications according to MAP regulations.
- Maintain core training certifications including CPR/FA, OSHA, CPI, and MAP.
- Maintain additional mandated training and certifications as required by the program.
- Complete household cleaning duties as assigned.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Must be a high school graduate with a minimum of 1 year of experience working with people with developmental or psychiatric disabilities.
- Successful completion of a Massachusetts-approved Nursing Assistant Certification course or other education that meets state certification requirements.
- Must hold current Nursing Assistant Certification in Massachusetts and maintain active certified status.
- A bachelor's degree may be substituted for a CNA based on experience.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills so that the writing of required documents is clear and articulate.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Valid driver's license and one year of driving experience.
- Computer literacy includes the ability to use proficiently Microsoft products and web-based applications used by the agency.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to climb stairs.
