Material Handler​/Fork Truck Operator

Job Summary

The material handler / fork truck operator loads and unloads structural steel parts and deliveries, or moves them to and from various work, receiving or storage areas. Provides production support by moving material throughout the yard.

• Load and unload structural steel inventory and finished product.
• Move/maneuver inventory and finished product around the yard and throughout the facility.
• Stack and store steel inventory.
• Ensure loads are secure throughout handling and movement.
• Ensure loads to be transported are loaded properly and securely.
• Perform other related work as required.
• Work overtime as needed.
• Maintain regular attendance, which is an essential function of this position.

Must be able to stand, bend, and twist throughout an entire shift; ability to sit for long stretches of time while driving a forklift; ability to move in and out of the forklift. Able to lift 50 lbs. Must wear PPE while on the floor. Demonstrates accountability for all safety procedures. Compensation is based upon experience.
