WORK HOURS: 6.5 hours per day (7:15 a.m. to 2:15 p.m.), Monday through Friday, for 172 contract days (170 student contact days plus 2 inservice days during the school year) per school year.

JOB DUTIES:

• Assist student(s) with special needs in the classroom (i.e. behavior management, social skills, crisis intervention and instruction in basic skills)
• Supervise special education student(s) to ensure safety
• Assist with collecting and monitoring of student progress data.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School diploma
• Highly Qualified per MDE requirements for special education paraprofessionals *
• Acceptance of students’ disabilities and limitations
• Must be able to lift, pull, or move a minimum of 50 pounds
• Accepts direction from supervising teacher(s) and is willing to work as a team
