Summary
Under the direct supervision of the Manager of Employee Health and Wellness, the Employee Health & Wellness Coordinator will be responsible for performing a variety of routine clinical tasks in the care and treatment of employees that are seen in the employee health office setting. This position requires the ability to work and collaborate effectively with the Employee Health & Wellness staff, Manager and Director of Employee Health and the Wellness & Clinical Education to provide quality services to My Michigan Health employees, students and volunteers.
The Employee Health & Wellness Clinical Coordinator interacts with employees to provide care, services, interpret reports and/or test results under the supervision of the Employee Health Medical Director and/or Employee Health Director. They are also responsible for providing education on a variety of topics that relate to health and wellness. This position provides clerical support as needed which may include scheduling appointments, data entry into the MCIR and inputting employee files into HR systems.
The Employee Health & Wellness Coordinator must be able to multi-task to insure coordination of the patient flow process. The Employee Health and Wellness Coordinator may perform multiple clinical tasks such as pre‑employment assessments, drug screening, managing the respiratory protection program, initial TB screening, review of immunizations and performing phlebotomy for immunity titers or post exposure to blood borne pathogen follow‑up and evaluation.
They will also be responsible for assisting with organizing the annual influenza campaign.
This position will have responsibility to conduct employee wellness services under the direction of the Employee Wellness Manager. Assigned duties include providing biometric testing, group presentations, wellness coaching as well as leading or facilitating employee wellness committees such as the Sunshine system committee and member location committees that provide and engage employees in wellness activities. The Employee Health & Wellness Coordinator will be knowledgeable with maneuvering through the Motion Connect Portal and will be responsible for assisting staff with portal registration.
The Employee Health & Wellness Coordinator will work collaboratively with the entire Employee Health & Wellness team which will include participation in weekly and monthly meetings and will be actively involved with program development and implementation.
Responsibilities- Greets employees, physicians, volunteers and performs routine procedures as assigned, including taking vital signs, obtaining and reviewing history, allergies, TB testing, vaccine injections, pre‑employment screenings, minor injury wound care, referral for injuries, performs simple laboratory test, etc. (25%)
- Manages call triage and appointment scheduling to ensure timely and appropriate follow‑up/meeting. (15%)
- Reviews employee files and laboratory results. (20%)
- Prepares and reviews compliance reports and conducts chart audits to ensure survey readiness and adherence to regulatory standards. (15%)
- Conducts employee wellness services, including group presentations, program development, and wellness coaching under the direction of the Employee Wellness Manager, assists staff with Motion Connect portal registration and participates in system and subsidiary wellness committees. (25%)
Teamwork and working closely with peers are essential.
Strong computer skills in Excel, Word and Power Point preferred.

Certifications and Licensures- BLS:
Basic Life Support – required within 1 month of hire or transfer.
High School Diploma.
Other Information Experience, Training and Skills- Excellent clinical skills and sound judgment.
