Tax Clerk and Accounting Clerk I

Location: Blind River

Join the Corporation of the Town of Blind River as a full-time Accounting Clerk I – Tax Clerk. This position emphasizes property taxation, excellent customer service, and meticulous financial administration.

As a vital member of the Corporate Services team, you will report to the Treasurer and play a key role in municipal financial services. Your responsibilities will include administering property tax processes, maintaining records, and being the first point of contact for residents and other stakeholders. You will get to contribute to the financial health of Blind River while developing your skills in a collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Administer property tax billing processes and adjustments

• Maintain records for assessments and pre-authorized payments

• Process tax payments and balance financial subledgers

• Prepare tax certificates for legal and financial entities

• Assist with front counter customer service and invoicing

Requirements:

• Post-secondary education in Accounting or related field

• Experience in municipal taxation or accounting

• Knowledge of financial software, especially ERP systems

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office with strong Excel skills

• Excellent communication and customer service abilities
