Accounting Assistant Bank Reconciliations

Location: Sault Ste. Marie

Support accurate bank reconciliations and payment processing as an Accounting Assistant with McDougall Energy. Help maintain reliable financial data and internal controls.
Reporting to the Corporate Accounting Manager, this Accounting Assistant supports McDougall Energy’s Finance Department. The work includes account reconciliations, electronic payments, vendor setup, and discrepancy resolution. Accuracy, confidentiality, and timely completion support the company’s financial goals.

Key Responsibilities:

Reconcile company bank accounts against the general ledger
Review banking information for fraud prevention
Coordinate electronic payment setup and execution
Resolve discrepancies with suppliers and internal teams
Assist with vendor setup and external audit requests
Requirements:
Accounting, Business, or related college diploma or degree
Three to five years reconciling high-volume account transactions
High accuracy when handling large volumes of data
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Excel, and accounting software
Strong analytical, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
