, the Junior Inspector will report to the Contract Administrator and will have a wide range of duties which ultimately focus on completing field and technical inspections. You will be part of a team that offers Construction Management services to various public and private clients, including the provincial government, contractors, and municipalities. The work generally requires administering large-scale construction projects on highways, bridges, and roads throughout Ontario.

The team typically acts in a quality assurance role, administering the construction contract, inspecting for adherence to specifications, handling quantity calculations, processing progress payments, etc.

What You’ll Do:
The Junior Inspector will be part of the Contract Administration team. You will:

Complete field inspections including independently performing a broad range of technical inspections in accordance with established standards and regulations

Conduct inspections of methods and materials used by contractors, while ensuring conformity

Assess and analyze compliance with contract documents

Ensure environmental protection measures are installed and functioning

Complete materials testing including compaction testing, bag and tag materials, and conduct field surveys to verify dimensions and grade

Accurately record inspection activities in Field Diary, provide continuous evaluation of construction progress, and provide reports to Contract Administrator on construction activity

What You Should Bring:
The ideal candidate will be enrolled in a postsecondary program in Civil Engineering or a related field. Additionally, you should have:

Excellent communication skills (oral and written)

Unwavering commitment to health and safety in the workplace

Valid Class G driver’s licence
