Hydroelectric Electronics Technologist Wawa

Location: Wawa

Pursue a rewarding career as an Electronics Technologist in Wawa, Ontario, with Brookfield Renewable. This full-time position focuses on testing, troubleshooting, and maintaining hydroelectric generation equipment in a union environment.

As part of Brookfield Renewable, you will report to the Operations Manager and engage in the installation and maintenance of critical electrical protection systems. This role requires expertise in programmable logic controls, effective communication skills, and the ability to work within a multidisciplinary team. You'll be responsible for ensuring the reliability and efficiency of hydroelectric systems while contributing to Canada's low-carbon future.

Key Responsibilities:

• Program and maintain hydroelectric generation PLCs

• Troubleshoot and repair electronic and electrical equipment

• Develop Operator Interface Terminal (OIT) screens

• Assist with preventative maintenance during outages

• Participate in emergency maintenance response activities

Requirements:

• Completion of diploma in electronics or electrical engineering technology

• Minimum of three years of practical experience

• Strong leadership and communication skills

• Knowledge of safety regulations and work protection

• Valid Ontario Driver’s License required
