A global manufacturer of advanced steel products used in the energy industry is seeking a Process Technology Sr. Analyst / Specialist to join its operations team in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario.
This role sits within the Industrial Operations team and focuses on driving process optimization, quality performance, and technological improvements within steel manufacturing operations. The successful candidate will work closely with production, engineering, and quality teams to improve operational efficiency, support new process initiatives, and ensure high standards of safety and product performance.
This position supports operations within the ERW (Electric Resistance Welding) production line, a critical manufacturing process within the facility.
Role Overview:
The Process Technology Sr. Analyst / Specialist is responsible for identifying and implementing best operational practices through technological improvements and process optimization. The role supports production requirements, improves process stability, and ensures compliance with quality and safety standards.
The position plays a key role in improving operational efficiency, supporting technical initiatives, and maintaining a high-performing manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Process Optimization & Quality:
- Analyze manufacturing process performance and identify opportunities for process improvements and operational efficiencies
- Design and implement improvements to ensure stable, defect-free manufacturing processes
- Monitor product quality results and develop corrective action plans when required
- Support manufacturing teams in process troubleshooting and performance analysis
Technology & Continuous Improvement:
- Identify technological improvements by leveraging benchmarking, competitor analysis, and R&D insights
- Coordinate technological initiatives and support implementation of process improvements
- Provide technical support to operations during new project initiatives or process changes
Operational Support:
- Ensure production processes meet established efficiency and performance standards
- Collaborate with operations teams to ensure equipment performance and process stability
- Optimize the use of critical supplies and materials to help meet cost objectives
Quality & Customer Support:
- Monitor and evaluate product quality results to ensure internal and external customer satisfaction
- Collaborate with operations and quality teams to resolve manufacturing issues affecting product performance
Safety, Environmental & Compliance:
- Support adherence to health, safety, and environmental standards
- Participate in incident investigations and root cause analysis
- Conduct inspections and help implement preventive and corrective actions
- Maintain updated risk analysis and environmental assessments
Operational Governance:
- Ensure compliance with all company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
- Protect company assets including facilities, equipment, and operational resources
Operations Area:
This role supports operations within the ERW (Electric Resistance Welding) production line, a critical steel manufacturing process used to produce tubular products for energy applications.
Schedule & Work Environment:
- Day shift (8-hour schedule)
- Some flexibility may be required based on operational needs
- Work is performed within a heavy industrial steel manufacturing facility

Education:
