Rehabilitation Officer

Position: Full-Time Rehabilitation Officer
Contribute to community reintegration as a Rehabilitation Officer with the Ministry of the Solicitor General in Sault Ste Marie. This role focuses on facilitating and delivering rehabilitative programs for offenders in a permanent, full-time capacity.

As a Rehabilitation Officer at the Algoma Treatment & Remand Centre, you will play a crucial role in assisting offenders' adjustments upon re-entering society. This involves organizing resources, maintaining program structure, and providing direct support. Your expertise in social sciences will guide program delivery and help prepare offenders for successful discharge.

Key Responsibilities:

• Facilitate individual and group rehabilitative programming

• Write accurate case notes and track offender progress in OTIS

• Enroll offenders and ensure resources for programs are ready

• Interview offenders and respond to their requests

• Assist in the training and orientation of new staff

Requirements:

• Post-secondary education in social sciences preferred

• Experience with community agency collaboration

• Knowledge of the justice system and relevant legislation

• Proficient in using offender information systems

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
