Database Administrator

Cyber Core is looking for a candidate who will maintain the integrity, security, and availability of multiple databases. Duties include disaster recovery, performance analysis and tuning, index maintenance, and monitoring of data, as well as administering, maintaining, developing, and implementing policies and procedures for ensuring the security and integrity of the database. The selected candidate will evaluate and recommend available database management system products;

perform database and software lifecycle activities to ensure the highest level of system performance, availability, and compliance with business requirements; and organize and format data for efficient query and storage processes.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Implement and maintain DISA STIGs for platforms Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL, Cassandra and/or MONGO DB.
• Perform vulnerability scans, analyze findings, and remediate security weaknesses.
• Support Risk Management Framework (RMF) processes and contribute to Authority to Operate (ATO) packages.
• Conduct routine security readiness reviews and document Plan of Action and Milestones (POA&M) items.
• Collaborate with Information System Security Officers (ISSOs) to validate and report compliance.
• Review database SRG and/or STIGs as updates are released, and report changes with the potential to have significant impact.
• Determine the impact and risk of submitted change requests prior to implementation and participate in meetings to provide cyber oversight for web changes that affect the level of risk.
• Perform system updates and Information Assurance Vulnerability Alert (IAVA) patching.
• Troubleshoot and resolve database problems.
• Perform database recovery actions.
• Modify existing database scripts to enhance systems support and create new database scripts for recurring database issues.
• Develop and execute SQL queries for routine and ad hoc requests.
