Engineering Lab Technician

Overview

The Engineering Lab Technician supports engineering and product development activities by performing hands-on testing, data collection, equipment setup, and documentation. This role ensures accurate and timely execution of lab tests and experiments, supporting engineering staff in product validation, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement initiatives.

• Prepare, set up, and operate laboratory test equipment to support engineering validation and product development.
• Conduct mechanical, electrical, and environmental testing on components and assemblies.
• Record, analyze, and report test results with accuracy and attention to detail.
• Assist engineers in troubleshooting prototypes and production equipment.
• Maintain lab equipment, tools, and inventory to ensure availability and reliability.
• Follow established test protocols, work instructions, and safety standards.
• Assemble and disassemble prototype components for testing and evaluation.
• Provide feedback to engineering teams regarding product performance and improvements.
• Assist with documentation, including test procedures, work instructions, and technical reports.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives within the lab environment.
• Ensure compliance with company quality, safety, and environmental policies.
• Other duties as assigned.

Education and Formal Training:

• Associate’s Degree in Engineering Technology, Electronics, or related field preferred.

Experience:

• 2+ years of hands-on lab, testing, or technician experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
• Experience with data acquisition systems and test software preferred.
• Familiarity with CAD software (Inventor/Solid Works) a plus.
• ERP system knowledge (SAP preferred) a plus.
