Purpose:

Provide prompt, efficient and friendly customer service. Efficiently manage the operations of the Pharmacy. Ensure accurate prescription dispensing and appropriate consultation. Supervise pharmacy technicians, graduate interns and clerks in compliance with federal and state legislation as well as store policies and procedures.

Job Responsibilities and Accountabilities
  • Provides prompt, efficient and friendly customer service through execution of patient care standards.
  • Smiles and greets customers in a friendly manner.
  • Genuinely thanks each customer and invites them to return.
  • Assists customers by escorting them to the products they’re looking for (when possible), making appropriate over‑the‑counter recommendations, securing products that are out of reach, and performing other tasks to enhance the shopping experience.
  • Takes all steps required to fill prescriptions in compliance with all laws, regulations, physician orders and company policies and procedures regarding the sale of pharmaceuticals, including retrieving the correct and accurate product(s), counting; pouring, or measuring out the required quantity according to established company methods and procedures, affixing the label permanently to the container, performing a final audit of the prescription, offering advice and professional consultation in compliance with state and federal laws and regulations, actively endorsing and participating in all clinical program offerings, responding to telephone requests, communicating and cooperating professionally with peers, subordinates, managers, physicians, and customers, ensuring timely implementation of company policies, enforcing professional and operational standards, maintaining state and federal record keeping for controlled substances, supervising pharmacy staff, participating in audits, ensuring HIPAA compliance, dispensing OTC drugs by law, accessing the pharmacy computer to obtain complete patient record, verifying third‑party plan parameters, ordering product from distribution center, stocking product orders, training technicians, maintaining inventory levels, bagging products, operating drive‑thru pillar when applicable, adhering to company hygiene and dress code standards, reporting to work on time, and handling hazardous drugs in accordance with standard operating procedures.
  • Additional secondary job functions include knowing general location of over‑the‑counter merchandise, keeping the pharmacy area clean and organized, ensuring bags and vials are replenished, attending company meetings, performing duties assigned by pharmacy leadership, maintaining standards in absence of the Pharmacy Manager, and participating in company‑sponsored programs.
Job Requirements
  • College degree in Pharmacy (BS or Pharm

    D).
  • Pass NAPLEX test and State MPJE.
  • Valid state licensed pharmacist.
  • Certified Immunizer.
  • Complete continuing education hours as required by law.
  • Complete all required state, federal and company training programs (e.g., HIPAA, CDR, I‑pledge).
  • Basic arithmetic skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions, write identifying information, and request supplies orally or in writing.
  • Visual requirements: clarity at more than 20 inches and less than 20 feet with color vision, depth perception and field of vision.
  • Work shifts varying in length and time, including nights, weekends and holidays.
Physical Environment
  • Work in a store environment, handling multiple priorities.
  • Exposure to dust, cleaning chemicals, equipment movement hazards.
  • Temperature‑controlled environment; may stand for long periods.
  • Periodic travel by car.
  • Use of calculators, keyboards, telephone and other office equipment.
  • Stooping, bending, twisting and reaching may be required.
