As the Coffee Lead at Hy-Vee, you'll help keep our Coffee Shop running smoothly while supporting the Department Manager and leading the barista team. You'll make sure every customer gets a fresh, high-quality product and a genuinely warm experience from the moment they walk up to the counter. • Deliver outstanding customer service by greeting customers warmly, learning their names, and going the extra mile to make every visit a positive one
• Take customer orders at the counter and over the phone, and assist with finding products and answering questions
• Ensure food is handled safely and the work area is always clean, neat, and up to department standards
• Monitor product freshness and appearance throughout your shift and prepare and replenish product as needed
• Anticipate daily product needs and follow or develop a production list to stay ahead
• Check in product, put product away, and review invoices as needed
• Run the department register and process payments where applicable
• Instruct, assign, and coordinate work for Coffee Shop Baristas
• Order product and supplies as needed and price products for customers as necessary
• Remove trash promptly and maintain a clean, organized department
• Handle confidential information including sales percentages and employee wages with discretion
• Maintain compliance with Hy-Vee's dress code, hygiene standards, and all company policies
• Assist in other store areas and take on special projects as needed

Coffee Shop Baristas

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Food safety or sanitation courses encouraged
• One year of similar or related experience preferred

• Frequently stand and walk throughout a shift in sales, food service, or delivery areas
• Where applicable to the role: ability to safely use sharp knives and blades for food preparation
