Accounting Technician II

Chatham County Magistrate Court has an opening for Accounting Technician II. If you hold an Associate Degree in Accounting or Business Administration and have at least one (1) year of experience in general accounting, then we encourage you to apply.

Under general direction, you

• Perform a variety of complex accounting processes along with administrative and clerical support, including financial recording duties, monetary processes, and cashiering.
• Create and maintain standard fiscal and accounting records and analyze and reconcile financial reports, databases, spreadsheets, and project files.
• Process accounts receivables and payables, cash, budgetary, and financial statements.
• Ensure the proper receipt of documents and fees and record, scan, and file as required.
• Keep management apprised of pertinent information.
• Use your customer service and communication skills as you interact with citizens and maintain a harmonious working environment.
• Maintain attention to detail in performing all work.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Associate Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or a closely related field, and
• At least one (1) year of general accounting experience; or
• Any equivalent combination of training and experience.
• Must have data entry and accounting software experience and be highly proficient in Excel.
• Selected candidates may be required to complete clerical testing during the interview process.

• Accounting experience in a government environment.
